Economy and Jobs

Our new governor is undermining Transform Rockford by his Right to Work stance which silences the voice of labor. Will the leaders of Transform Rockford take a stand against making Illinois a Right to Work state and join in eliminating unions? Like to know if the leadership of Transform is truly genuine in including all voices.

Education

Washington Gifted School

Rockford should celebrate the fact that Washington is ranked 5th out of 1913 Illinois elementary schools, and should model all other schools after it as much as possible (it's not done with less students per teacher, or a brand new building). Today, as I was reflecting on our conversation the idea of Rockford obtaining some sort of significant retired aircraft, space shuttle, or maybe even a submarine or Navy ship in the Rock river occured to me,... more »

City Museum

We just visited The City Museum in St. Louis, and found it to be the most amazing place we have ever taken our 10 and 8 year old daughters. It is an old shoe factory in dowtown St. Loius that has been converted into lofts, apartment and a museum with the most amazing and interactive exhibits we have ever seen www.citymuseum.org. Obviously the Missouri liability climate is much more user friendly than our nanny state,... more »
